Saint Michael’s Abbey is a contemplative monastery of monks of the Benedictine Order. The monks live the Benedictine life in its classic or ‘continental’ form. Its Imperial Crypt is also the resting place of Napoleaon III (1808 – 1873).

Since 2007 it has been the home of the Catholic National Library.
